Taking care of Stormpaw

Mistsky and the others carried the injured Stormpaw and sleeping Robinpaw into her den. They expected her to ask some questions like who Stormpaw was and what were they doing with him here ect but she didn't.

She asked no questions at all as her job as a medicine cat required her to care for all cats including ones from other clans without question as borders had different rules for medicine cats as opposed to all the rest of the cats in a clan.

"Place Robinpaw in her nest there." She said pointing to Robinkit's nest that had been moved into her den when she became Echolight's apprentice not too long ago.

Mistsky nodded doing as she told him gently placing his sister into the nest while Stormpaw was placed gently on the ground for Echolight to examine.

Giving the wounds a quick look over she immediately went back to her herb supply safely hidden at the back of her den.

She grabbed some Chamomile, Chervil, Cobwebs, and Poppy seeds and began walking back over to Stormpaw gently placing the herbs on the ground in front of her.

Robinpaw didn't sleep long and awoke to find herself in the Medicine cat den. Immediately her eyes darted over to Stormpaw.

Jumping out of her nest she ran over to him. "Is she alright? Tell me she's alright!" she cried filled with nothing but worry for her friend.

"She's lost a lot of blood but we can still save her. Watch closely to what I do and you can use this as a first lesson to medicine cat training." Echolight told her. She pointed to the Chamomile leaves. "These are Chamomile leaves. They are used to relieve and sooth a patient concerning matters of the heart area. They also help give the cat some strength they will need to help them recover." She explained. "These cobwebs here," she told her pointing to them. "Are to help stop any bleeding to prevent anymore loss of blood." Lastly she pointed to the Chervil and Poppy Seeds. "Chervil is cleaning wounds to ensure they don't get infected and cause a cat to get sick from them. Poppy seeds are for helping a cat get some well deserved rest."

"Okay got it. Enough with the lecture. Just use it on her so we can save her already." Robinpaw hissed. It wasn't that she didn't care for Echolight's instructions she was just too worried about Stormpaw to really care at the moment. 'If this works and we save Stormpaw's life then I will take back some of the things I said about not wanting to be a medicine cat...' she thought to herself.

"Why don't you take the cobwebs with your paw and use them to place it over the wound. Apply some pressure to help stop the bleeding quicker. I will tell you when to stop applying it and when to remove your paw, got that?" Echolight replied calmly and patiently.

Robinpaw nodded and did as she was told as Echolight watched her making sure she was doing it correctly before she began to chew up the Chamomile leaves.

After a couple moments Echolight told her to remove her paw so she could apply the Chamomile leaves to the wound. She waited several moments for it to sink in the wound.

"Now what?" Robinpaw asked her heart racing still worried deeply for her friend.

"Now chew the Chervil up into a pulp like I did with the Chamomile and place it over the wound." Echolight told her letting Robinpaw do it so she could get a little experience. After Robinpaw had done that Echolight told her to open Stormpaw's mouth slightly and place the poppy seeds on her tongue and blow in Stormpaw's nose to make her swallow them.

"Now what do we do?" Robinpaw asked.

"Wait." Echolight replied.

"Wait? We can't wait! Can't you see Stormpaw is dying! We need to do more to help her!" Robinpaw argued.

"There is nothing more we can do for now. It is up to her and Starclan now. We must wait but have faith Robinpaw. For Stormpaw to survive as long as she already has it means she has some fighting spirit left in her still and that she will continue to fight. She will come back to us I'm sure of it." Echolight reassured her.

"If you say so.." Robinpaw replied not taking her eyes off Stormpaw while Echolight tended to her cuts treating them so they didn't get infected as well. As she treated to them she told her what she was using and what it was for continuing on with some of the lecture of herbs and their uses.
